We now have Internet at the house again. We had shut it off to save some money as we thought we were getting ripped off. We waited for several months and got some bills paid off which is always good. Now we are back online and have found a plan that works for our needs. Shane and I have been busy working outside the last few weeks. We have been planting flowers and all sorts of fun stuff. I hope to post another entry and some pictures of the flowers in a couple of days. Today I spent some time at the dentist and had my mouth numbed(hince the title). Last week I went in for a check up and they found I had a few teeth that needed to be fixed. One of the teeth was a major problem needing a root canal. This has been very frustrating to me because I try to take good care of my teeth. If someone was to just look at my teeth they might not think that because they are quite crooked beings I never got braces. Anyways I went in today and they did half of the root canal and then they will do the last half next Tuesday. I will be glad to get the whole thing over with. I could tell while I was there today that I had people praying for me and that the Lord was helping me. I get very nervous when going to the dentist. I have no problems going to the medical or eye doctor but have always had a hard time with the dentist. I believe part of this is because I had a bad dentist at one time in Nebraska. Also do to the fact that my mouth is so small it hurts to have even a cleaning done. One funny thing that I found out that helps me to better understand how my one tooth could get so bad. I was told that since my mouth is so small I need to always use a kids toothbrush. The adults ones won't work well at getting all the little areas in my mouth. I guess this means I can always be kid at heart. Or at least I can always have the cool character toothbrushes! :)

Longing for Spring

As I set in my living room and look outside I long for spring. I want to be outside working on landscaping my yard. We moved in this house the end of September and the yard had been very neglected . I have been looking forward to giving the yard and outside of the house some cottage character. It has been a mild winter here and I am very thankful for that. Now that it is almost March however I want to be outside. I know my doggies want to be outside more also they love playing out there. At the moment though it is a bit cold so in and out all day they go. I just need to think of all the positives of winter with the moisture and getting things done on the inside of the house and gathering with friends and family. These are the things that I do cherish this time of the year. So if you are having the spring itch remember the good things that you have during the cold part of the year.

A mop and some Clorox wipes

We have a new baby girl puppy named Roo. For some time now we had been thinking about getting Scooter a playmate. Recently he has become very needy. He lived at the humane society for seven months before we adopted him so he was use to other dogs being around. We felt that he was a little lonely and well a playmate would help with this. We had been thinking about getting a dachshund maybe a little older 1-3 years. Scooter is a mixed breed part lab and part Daschund. We had been checking the Eastern Montana humane society web page to see if they got any Daschunds in.Recently we noticed they had gotten a little boy daschund. Yesterday the Humane Society had a fundraiser at a local event center and they brought some of the animals to be adopted. We went and found out that the little daschund had already been adopted. We went on home and on the way there began talking about dogs. Shane told me that Since Scooter is a lot bigger than a normal Daschund maybe we should consider a bigger dog so that they could run and play together. We thought about it some more during lunch. After lunch we went back to the event. We found a little girl puppy who was shy, seemed like maybe she was the runt and she had a couple of ouchies. Shane picked her up and we knew she was coming home with us. Our new little girl we have named Roo(like the kangaroo on winnie the pooh). She is only three months old and so we will be doing a lot of training with her but it will be worth it. We have the mop and Clorox wipes on hand at all times. This part is a little hard for me being a clean freak! Roo is a mixed breed part Lab part Border Collie. We love animals and it is so nice to give one a home where they will be taken care of. People might think we are crazy to have two guinea pigs and two dogs but that's ok we love our animals anyway. I will try and post a few pictures of Roo sometime soon.

Thankful

Well I had another drama practice tonight . I am so thankful to be working with such a great group of students. Each practice I have walked away feeling like I have accomplished something and that is a great feeling. I love to teach the students about the different areas of theater(costumes, props, lights etc.) instead of just putting on a play and that is actually happening. I also like to teach them some basic drama terms and this is happening as well. I am very thankful to the Lord for blessing me with such a great group. I really needed that because I felt a little bit low in my self confidence going into this play. It has just shown me that this is a talent that the Lord has given me and that I need to use this talent for the Lord. I pray that I will be a good example to the students and let the Lord shine through me. Working on this play has also inspired me to get back to work on my scriptwriting. After I am done working at K-mart this next week I plan on trying to set time aside each day to write. Thank you friends and Family for your encouraging me to use the talents that the Lord has given me.

Answered Prayer

So after prayer and thought Shane and I feel we have our answer to my job situation. I plan on writing much more frequently soon. Well I feel as though I am at a crossroads and that I need to make decision. I started working for a company in late October. I really enjoyed working for the company, the hours, scheduling and management where all very nice. As of the first of the year the company I was working for got bought out and things have drastically changed. I have had a lot of stress with the job and overall it just hasn't been good. I have been feeling sick a lot due to stress and what not and I also messed up my back. I am also doing a second job at the moment and that is directing a play which I love doing and went to school for. The time is coming for my husband and I to make a decision if I need to quite my one job and tighten down the budget some more. Before going to work in October my health had gotten much better.I had one point where my blood sugar did not drop for two months. Anyone who is hypoglycemic can tell you that this is a great accomplishment. Unfortunately I have went back the other way which makes me sad. All that to say the crossroad is coming and I want to make sure that I choose the right path.I know that as I pray that the Lord will help me to know what is right. I hope this post doesn't sound depressing. :)

New Job

Today was the first day at my new job. I am working part- time for a shoe company that does the shoes for our local K-mart. I had a good first day. I enjoyed my time and learning new things. It will be nice as winter hits to get out of the house a little bit . I will also get to still be home a lot though which I like so I think it will be a good balance for me.
As for other things going on... last night the youth girls group that I help with meet at our house. It was nice to have people over to our new place. It is also nice to know that the to do list of things inside and outside of the house is now quite small. After the girls left and Shane came home he was placing the last of the compact florescent bulbs in a lamp and well it slipped and dropped on the floor. It was really scary for a moment not knowing what to do, I went to the internet to find info. We did all the steps for clean up including ventilating the house for several hours which was quite cold. I must admit it really made me nervous but luckily it was on hardwood not carpet and Shane was able to get everything cleaned up. Those light bulbs are sure nice for saving on the bill yet scary that they have mercury in them. Has anyone else had something like this happen to them? Well that's all I have for now.

busy,busy

Well it has been a long time since I have wrote on here. Over the last few months we have been saving and then buying a new house here in Glendive. I have been working hard to get everything unpacked. It is so nice to get things out of boxes, some things had been packed for almost nine months. It has been like Christmas opening up the boxes because you forget you had some things.I will post pictures of the house sometime soon. I want to get everything finished first. While we were waiting to close on the house I applied for many jobs but none of them were a good fit for me. I had given up and decided I would just be a house wife which I love. Then out of the blue a job posibility came my way and I have decided to take it. I will be working in the shoe department at Kmart starting next week. I will be working about 16 hours a week which is the amount I was hoping for. I am very excited and a little nervous about the job put I am sure everything will go well. I am really starting to feel settled in Glenidve and it is a good feeling. That's all for now, more to come.

New Adventure

As I was thinking about all I wanted to write in this blog post about me looking for a job I thought back to a song from a long time ago. The song that came to my mind was that of The Great Adventure by Stephen Curtis Chapman.....come on sing it with me..... saddle up your horses. So for those of you that are reading this and don't know me very well , you will never see me as that shy red head again will you. Anyways I decided I was going to talk today about my new adventure. I have been keeping my eye out for a job since we moved to Glendive about six months ago. The problem is that my degree is with drama and well that is a little bit harder to use in a rural area as far as for income. I do have one theater thing lined up, I will be directing a play for a high school about thirty miles away from here in the spring. I have been working on some scriptwriting from home and I have three different play ideas but none of them are finished. My dream is to some day get a play published. Anyways getting back on track now, I am looking for a job in the clerical/retail/whatever else area . Something that will get me out of the house a little bit and will get us a little extra money. Well enough on that I'm saddling up my horse and heading into town. Oh wait I don't have horses and I already live in town well I guess I will just say good bye then. :)

Have you ever...

This is a skit called " game day" which I did while in college, I thought it would fit well with this post.

Have you ever caught yourself cheering at the TV while watching a sporting event? It's quite funny to think about, cheering at a big box as if you were really at the event. Over the last week and half I have caught myself doing that very thing while watching the Olympics. Now I must admit it wasn't a really loud cheer , however I was definitely cheering at the big box. I had my hands in fists, face tightened and let out a little.. go, go, get going. I must also admit that the Olympics is not the first time I have done such a thing... I will pause for a minute so that you can finish gasping......... ok ya done yet? I must also say that no matter where I am when I get to watch a good ole Nebraska football game I have been known to wiggle in my seat and let out a few more of those cheers to the big black box. Now you might say this is the weirdist blog post you have ever read, but I bet tonight when you are watching the olympics on the big black box that you just might catch yourself with fisted hands, tighten face and letting out a bit of a cheer. Have a good day everyone:)

Bishop Family Reunion

Hello friends and family. Well since I enjoy reading other blogs daily I thought it was time to start one of my own. This past weekend was that Bishop family reunion. This was my first real reunion. I must say it was quite fun and interesting. I come from a small family and well the Bishop family is large! We had basically only immediate family there and that consisted of about 25-30 people. I can't imagine how many we would have had if all the grandkids and extended family was there. To give you an idea of the family size difference between the Grandy's and the Bishop's, if all of my immediate and extended family was to be in North Platte for a holiday there would be about 30 people. I have no 1st cousins on my dad's side and only two on my moms side. Oh the craziness.
